Researchers from the Center for News, Technology and Innovation conducted two global surveys asked what it means to do journalism and what the public wants from it.
With artificial intelligence poised to transform so many aspects of life, CNTI set out to learn more about what the public wants from journalism, and what it means to do journalism. The organization surveyed more than 4,000 people from four countries and more than 400 journalists from more than 60 countries.

The public still values news organizations and is largely positive about their ability to keep informed and about the role of technology in that endeavor. Journalists don’t have confidence the public can identify what journalism is and while they believe technology is improving their work, are hesitant about AI.
MG works with CNTI to develop datavisualizations, train its staff in dataviz, build out its WordPress templates and team up to help major reports like these global surveys come together.
