The EFI Foundation, our longtime client, continues to drive thoughtful, actionable dialogue around climate and energy policy—most recently through the leadership and insights of CEO Ernest J. Moniz.
Moniz was the keynote speaker at the launch of the Council on Foreign Relations’ Climate Realism Initiative, led by Varun Sivaram, Senior Fellow and Director of the Initiative. This important new effort is dedicated to developing and advancing climate and energy policies that are grounded in a realistic understanding of the world’s climate trajectory.
During the event, Moniz sat down with NPR’s Mary Louise Kelly to discuss a critical priority: creating durable markets for clean energy technologies. As the impacts of the climate crisis intensify, Moniz emphasized the urgency of action—not just setting benchmarks, but using every available tool to make measurable progress.
“There have been climate benchmarks set and passed,” Moniz said, “but now is the time to utilize these technologies and fight for every tenth of a degree that we can, with every tool at our disposal.”
This commitment to practical, science-based progress is central to EFI’s mission and to the work we support at Provable, our science communication division in partnership with M. Harris & Co. We are proud to recognize efforts like the Climate Realism Initiative that seek to align ambition with implementation, turning energy innovation into real-world impact.
