Cheers to Great Clients and Collaborators in 2024

The Onion team at the press plant.

’24 and there’s so much more.

As the year draws to a close, I am so grateful for the work we get to do. Here are three things that made this year incredibly cool.

✴️ The Onion: I have been involved in rethinking classic brands before, but usually as part of the staff. We were selected by the new owners (hurray!) to support the fine editorial and product folks at The Onion with the move back to print, a new website, the migration of decades of funny stuff, and a zillion other things. But we never felt like “the consultants” and that’s awesome. Appreciate Jordan LaFlure, Danielle Strle, Jimmy Hasse, and their cool Onion colleagues who trusted us — and continue to trust us — as we help with this amazing thing that gives so much joy to the world. The photo leading this post is the team watching the first print edition in more than 10 years get ready to roll off the presses. Pretty darn fun.

✴️ Supporting the energy transition: The reality-first approach the great organizations we work with take makes this tough work more effective. All of the above is truly an option to believe in. Props to progress from our clients and partners at RMI, the EFI Foundation, Climate Advisers, Current, and more. We launched Provable this fall as the science communication division of M. Harris & Co.. and MG Strategy + Design because we want to be part of making all this smart information easier to act on.

✴️ Our smart team: I have been making things together with Jonathon Berlin since the last century (not a typo). It’s fun stuff even when it’s hard work. Beyond JB, I am also fortunate to be part of a team that has no egos, great shorthand, and wonderful camaraderie. Thanks to Melissa Harris, ✌️ Kurt Cunningham, Jane Hirt, Cristi Kempf, Yuri Victor, Ben Cunningham, Jara Kern, Jenn Bane, and Cheryl Harris for being up for anything. We never miss deadlines — and we get remarkable stuff done. Always.

Cheers to all the clients who trusted us this year. Here’s to a wonderful holiday season.
